Yes, catchup. As in “I gotta catch up on a few things here!”

First, as this is November 11th, a thank you to all the veteran’s out there, past and present, for their dedication and sacrifice in the defense of our nation. Like the “Cathy” comic that ran in today’s paper, no matter what the sale signs say (50% off, 40% off, ect…) we as a nation are 100% grateful.

Meanwhile, as noted in a previous entry about Stephen Colbert’s presidential aspirations, Mr. Colbert has since withdrawn his bid for the presidency. It’s unknown at this time what kind of shenanigan’s Stephen will be up to next as his show is still off the air due to the writer’s strike which is about to enter it’s second week. Hopefully this thing won’t last for 22 weeks like it did in 1988. If that happens, I predict Colbert is going to have a A LOT of catching up to do once he’s back on the air!

In the meantime, my #!*%ing VCR had automatically changed the clock in the last week of October for the end of DST so I missed those last episodes before the strike. But no problem, I thought, I’ll just tape the repeats (or “mepeats” as Stephen would say) that aired the following week (this past week). I STILL DIDN’T GET THE EPISODES!! ARGHH!! I dunno what the hell happened. I had checked the clock on the VCR and thought the time was okay last Sunday but….damned if I know what happened. The fact that I still use a frikkin’ VCR I’m sure is entertaining for somebody out there.

The good news is I found the Best of the Colbert Report DVD yesterday and got to enjoy 3 hours of Stephen this afternoon. All is right with my world.  And yes I will happily watch the DVD again next weekend!
