They went out of business near the end of the 80's, and it became a place called "Daddy's Burritos" which also went under and a Starbuck's Coffee took its place. Arlene's used to make these absolutely awesome apple fritters that were bigger than an oven mitt and enough to feed 3 people. They were only $0.65 as I recall through the mid-80's. The original Arlene's cook, a guy named Tony, opened an Italian deli about a block south of where Arlene's used to be. It was in a mini-mall next to a 7-11, and I think it's still open to this day. They have doughnuts there too, although I don't remember them being as good or as huge as Arlene's.
